A visit to Vietnam is
certainly never dull. In addition
to the country's unique cultural
heritage, the scenic beauty of
the nations varied landscapes,
the natural hospitality of the
Vietnamese people and the
excellent levels of service and
facilities offered at the major
hotels and venues throughout the
country, Vietnam also has plenty
to offer the more active or
adventurous visitor.
A cruise aboard a luxuriously
fitted junk in Halong Bay for
example, provides a perfect
setting for relaxing meetings and
corporate events, while a day
trip on the waters of the Mekong
Delta offers visitors a different
perspective of life in
Vietnam.
Keen
golfers will find plenty of
choice across the board, as
Vietnam is home to some of South
East Asia's premier golf courses,
with around nine currently open
and several more under
construction and expected to open
very soon.
Watersports
enthusiasts are also spoilt for
choice with some of the region's
finest scuba diving on offer in
Nha Trang and excellent wind and
kite surfing, plus sailing and
wave boarding available on the
beach in Phan Thiet.
While no ballooning is
currently on offer in the
country, visitors to northern
Vietnam can enjoy a helicopter
ride out to and around beautiful
Hal Long Bay, gaining a different
perspective of these magnificent
islands from the air.
Day trips to the countryside
are plentiful and on offer at
just about every destination, and
longer two- or three-day
"safaris" can also easily be
arranged through your tour leader
or operator, some with specific
themes or activities including
bird-watching, photography or
viewing Vietnam's varied wild
life in its natural habitat.
Culture
vultures will also find plenty of
interest in Vietnam, with ancient
ruins dating back more than a
thousand years at numerous
locations in the country. The Old
Quarter of Hanoi offers an
insight to ancient capital, while
the royal tombs and mausoleums at
Hue have been carefully restored
to provide a glimpse of the
splendour of the ancient
kingdom.
And
Vietnam is rapidly becoming an
eco-tourism centre for intrepid
travellers, with its beautiful
and largely unspoiled forests and
mountains providing plenty of
opportunity for trekking and
enjoying the simple pleasures of
this remarkable land.
Tours and expeditions can
easily be arranged as a central
part of corporate travel package,
or as an optional addition at the
end of the stay, when business
has been attended to and rest and
relaxation is in order.
